As many of you know, we have been working with a team of three (3) professors of architecture on devising a new plan for the cultural green space, which we hope to present to a City of Montreal representative in the near future.
In addition to commemorative elements to honour the 6000+ Typhus victims and their caregivers, we would like to include a museum about the Irish Famine, a theatre, an Irish sports field and clubhouse, and meeting place for various organizations.
The original effort was deemed to be a little too ambitious and costly while we hope that this new design might be a little more realistic.
Needless to say, there have been a great many discussions and ideas and it would be difficult to list all the various concepts that would be included in this basic design.
However, we are very pleased to be able to unveil this new plan, and please do take a look at it, and do feel free to comment with any of your questions or suggestions.
