Thanks for Walking with our group in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade....

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that walked in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in support of our project; and certainly the Parade Organizers (The UIS) for allowing us the opportunity to promote this effort.

Also would like to thank William Keating who loaned us his great Black Rock Artwork. Unfortunately the cold wind was so strong that we had to tie it down and get on the truck to hold it in place. But it did seem to attract the attention of the crowd.

We were a little disappointed that we didn’t have more people out walking with us but, of course, it was understandable given the weather that did feel like -30 degrees at some point.

We hope to have another opportunity to promote our project at the “Annual Walk to the Rock” which is usually the last Sunday in May - when hopefully the weather will be a little warmer. So please mark your calendars for this event.

In the meantime, please do continue to push this very positive Montreal project to build a big beautiful Cultural Green Space around the Black Rock.

Thanks

MEETING INFORMATION FOR ANYONE THAT IS PLANNING TO WALK WITH THE MONTREAL IRISH MONUMENT PARK FOUNDATION IN THE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE THIS SUNDAY…..

The Parade is scheduled for this Sunday, March 22nd and starts at noon.

We ask anyone that is marching with us to meet no later than 11:30am on Rene Levesque Boul., just at the corner of Fort Street. As anyone that has marched before knows, it is sometimes a little difficult to find where your group is located. So we suggest that you look for two indicators. One is the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Banners since we will be walking right behind them. The other is to look for the Black Rock Artwork. This is a large replica of the Black Roc k and should be easy to spot. (We should be on Rene Levesque just a little East of Fort St.)

At this stage, the forecast is for about 1 degree and Sunny on Sunday (could easily change, of course) so we suggest that you dress warmly.

We will have a couple of banners, but please do feel free to make your own signs too that should say something like “Let’s Build a Park around the Black Rock.”

If you have any other questions, please post them here or send me an e-mail to info@ferguskeyes.com

Thanks
